Mission brief

Start by building a balanced team and learning what each mode rewards. Update 1.0 changed the available roster and added new progression routes, so avoid following old launch-banner or fixed-unlock advice without checking the live game panel.

What is Anime Expeditions?

Anime Expeditions is a Roblox tower-defense game built around summoning units, upgrading a team, clearing wave-based stages, farming materials, and evolving selected forms.

Core systems

  • Summoning — obtain units from the banner currently shown in game
  • Team building — combine damage, control, support, status, and economy roles
  • Equipment — match gear to the unit and mode instead of choosing by rarity alone
  • Traits — reroll only after a unit has a stable long-term role
  • Evolution — collect materials for a recipe confirmed by the live Evolve panel

Step-by-Step Start

Step 1: Complete the tutorial and inspect the current banner

  • Finish the tutorial before spending summon currency.
  • Read the live banner pool, pity rules, and end time; do not rely on launch-era banner advice.
  • Keep enough currency for multiple pulls instead of chasing one rare unit with no pity plan.

Step 2: Build a functional first team

Use roles, not rarity alone, to fill the first lineup:

  • Primary damage — a unit you can afford to place and upgrade consistently
  • Area coverage or control — helps prevent fast or grouped enemies from leaking
  • Support or status — valuable only when the main damage dealer benefits from its range or effect
  • Economy — use when the stage lasts long enough for the extra Yen to repay its slot and placement cost

The tier list is an investment shortlist, not a replacement for checking role, placement cost, traits, and equipment.

Step 3: Use the current mode route

Mode or areaBeginner purposeCheck before entering
Story / ExpeditionsLearn placement, earn account progress, and identify weak rolesCurrent stage requirements and recommended elements
East TownUpdate 1.0 progression toward the Prodigy trial routeDifficulty, boss clear, and scrap requirements shown in game
TowerPush milestone rewards after the base team is stableWhether the next milestone is worth the time and upgrade cost
West City ExpeditionContinue Warrior Saga progression and material farmingCurrent drop table and team survivability
Auto PlayRepeat a route the team can already clear reliablyFailure rate, currency cost, and whether manual placement performs better

No fixed account-level unlock table is published here because those requirements were not reverified in the August 24 source set.

Step 4: Protect scarce resources

  1. Upgrade the unit that solves the current stage problem.
  2. Farm a documented equipment or evolution target rather than generic materials.
  3. Save Trait rerolls until a unit has a clear long-term role.
  4. Test expensive changes across comparable runs before spending premium resources.

For Prodigy, the current documented route and materials are listed on the evolution guide. Check the live Evolve panel before collecting the full recipe.

Free-to-Play Resource Tips

  • Claim available daily and first-clear rewards, but confirm them in the current interface.
  • Use the codes page for dated status; it does not currently label any code as verified active.
  • Do not spend rare rerolls on a temporary filler unit just because it has a high rarity.
  • Paid options may reduce waiting or resource pressure. This guide does not claim that every unit or limited reward is always obtainable without Robux.
  • Compare the next upgrade against what actually blocks the account: damage, control, range, economy, or survivability.

Beginner FAQ

What is the best first unit? There is no universal first pick. Start with a unit you can place and upgrade, then add control or support that improves its actual performance. Use the units page to check documented roles.

How long does it take to reach mid-game? There is no reliable fixed-hour estimate. Progress depends on banner results, team cost, available events, Auto Play access, and whether the account can clear repeatable routes consistently.

Should I evolve a unit immediately? Only after confirming the live recipe and that the evolved form solves a current team need. Do not collect an older community recipe without comparing it to the in-game Evolve panel.

Is Anime Expeditions pay-to-win? The game includes Robux purchases and progression shortcuts. A free account can still build through earned resources, but availability and grind differ by banner, event, and update, so this guide avoids a universal claim.
